The Lord of the Rings

In the course of my education, this was a school project. The prompt was simple: Create an alternative bookcover for a trilogy of your chosing. I went for nothing less than The Lord of the Rings.

To set focus on the story of the book itself, rather than the pictures we all know from the movies, I chose to combine all relevant locations of the storyline to an illustration which I have then masked in the silhouette of the Frodo’s profile, allowing all his prominent features remain recognizable.
